Daviess, Greene and Martin counties all are home to solid K-12 public school systems, including the state-of-the-art New Tech High School at North Daviess near the WestGate. Washington, the county seat of Daviess, is home to one of the state’s oldest and most respected private Catholic K-12 school system.

Indiana University, a world-class research institution, and Rose-Hulman Institute of technology, the nation’s No. 1 ranked private engineering school, are within an hour's drive of the WestGate. Rose-Hulman maintains a small graduate engineering program directly on the base.

Life-long learning and retraining opportunities are plentiful, with regional campuses of Ivy Tech Community College and Vincennes University located within an hour's drive of the park. Adult learning programs, with both local and distance learning options, are readily available in the region.
